Ian McKay is the Director/ owner of Navigate Change Consulting and a graduate of the University of Ulster. He has delivered management consultancy and training for over 16 years. This has included working as Principal Consultant with Horwath Consulting Ireland and as Director and Principal Consultant of Navigate Change Consulting.
This comprises the successful delivery of major projects across the UK, Ireland and the U.S. This has included working in partnership with an extensive portfolio of government clients – at all levels of government.
He has also built extensive experience on how to develop powerful tender documents. This has included developing complex tenders in partnership with leading blue-chip companies and high profile academic institutions such as: Mott MacDonald, the Matrix Knowledge Group, Oakleigh Consulting, Green and Kassab, the University of Central Lancashire, University of Glasgow, Cardiff Business School and the Alder Hey Hospital among others.
Ian has also worked in partnership with members of the small and medium sized business community on the development of tenders for important government contracts across Ireland, Northern Ireland, G.B., EU and the U.S. This has included supporting many small businesses in winning contracts – often for the first time.

Ian is also highly experienced in training design, development, and delivery and creates high quality materials for all delivery including slides, multimedia, module materials, clinics, group work and a range of free tools for use by businesses. Ian values participant learning and knowledge transfer. He delivers the Writing Powerful Tenders – How to Write a Successful Bid training programme and the other important training programmes mentioned in our training section.
Ian also developed the Winning Tenders Academy and continues to support a wide range of businesses in one-to-one consultancy and tender writing support.
Finally Ian is a Certified Management Consultant with the Institute of Consulting and holds the Institute’s Certificate and Diploma in Management Consultancy among a wide range of other professional qualifications.
